"Young Barbra" Returns With “Magic & Music in the Air” December 6th "Young Barbra" Returns With “Magic & Music in the Air” December 6th

Rising Musical Star and Downers Grove native LAUREN FROST performs Sunday, December 6th at 4PM as part of a FUN fundraiser at the church she grew up in, Christ The Servant Catholic Church, 87th and Havens in Woodridge. “Magic and Music in the Air” will kick off with a truly magical performance by Modern-Day Vaudevillian, Magician Extraordinaire David Kovac. Following David’s “Magical” display, LAUREN FROST will entertain with a “Musical” array of song from standards to jazz, including songs from her debut album “Words For The Birds.” With Lauren & David, you’re sure to experience Magic and Music in the Air … and all for a good cause! LAUREN FROST grew up in Downers Grove and as a teen portrayed “Young Barbra” on international stages as part of Barbra Streisand’s Timeless Concert World Tour. Lauren starred as “Dorothy” in Chicago Shakespeare Theatre’s production of The Wizard of Oz. Even now she can be seen as “Ruby” on the Disney Channel’s Even Stevens Show. Lauren recently released her debut album “Words For The Birds”. Classic yet cool, sophisticated yet quirky, Lauren’s a Midwest girl, through and through, with a blue-collar work ethic balanced by her fine jazz roots. This delicate blend is perfectly apparent on her debut album that encompasses Lauren’s artistry: Her voice, her experience, her writing, and her character. Lauren will be performing with her band, BLUE LOU. Check out her website: www.laurenfrost.com. David Kovac combines elements of ventriloquism, parlor magic, mind reading, juggling and general tomfoolery in his show. Rubik’s cubes are solved in seconds, a balloon is made into an animal, and random objects are balanced on his nose. Chicago-based Kovac, a child actor who studied theater at DePaul, does voice work for commercials, but considers variety entertainment his true calling. David has presented his Random Acts of Magic in every kind of venue from Millennium Park and Navy Pier to Second City and the legendary Green Mill. See his website: www.davidkovac.com There will be Grand Raffle and Pick-a-Raffle baskets, too! Raffle tickets are available at the church or at the event. Lauren’s debut CD “Words For The Birds” will also be available for $10 each —get one autographed! Tickets are just $25 each and are available at Christ the Servant during office hours and after masses or use the order form at www.ctswoodridge.org. For information, call 630-910-0770.
